Counselling and Social Work
Catholic Social Services provides counselling and social work support to individuals and families. Our counsellors and social workers are professionally qualified and experienced. We offer inclusive services to anyone needing support, regardless of religion, ethnicity, race, sexual orientation, gender identity or socioeconomic status.
Our counsellors see individuals and couples seeking therapeutic support. Clients come to counselling to address challenges such as stress, depression or anxiety, relationship difficulties, anger, grief, family violence and many other concerns. Our counselling is offered on a donation basis. We suggest a donation of $40 for individuals or couples who are working and $20 for those who are not currently working. We do not turn anyone away based on financial circumstances – please discuss your financial capacity with your counsellor.
Social workers support individuals and families to improve well-being and build resilience. Our social work services often involve benefit and housing advocacy, increasing social connections, parenting support, employment preparation, refugee resettlement, and supporting children in schools. Social workers often liaise with other agencies such to assist clients in accomplishing their goals. Our social work services are free to all clients.
How do I get support?
If you would like to make an appointment or refer someone to our service, please contact our office. You’ll be connected with our intake coordinator who will ask you some questions and connect you with a counsellor or social worker. There are times when we have a waitlist for our services; we will do our best to get you an appointment as soon as possible or refer you to another appropriate agency.
