During the COVID-19 Lockdown, Good Grief Australia conducted global research on children’s response to the pandemic in comparison with other disasters and crises. The result is a detailed presentation available to all Seasons for Growth trainers in Australia, New Zealand, England, Scotland and Wales to help understand how best to support children coming out of lockdown.

Since schools reopened, enquiries for companion (facilitator) training are coming in. Two training courses are planned for the July holidays to be followed by a visit to communities on the South Island. Because we are able to offer training again as usual, candidates can once more share worksheets and other activities. We received registrations from teachers, social workers, youth workers and school chaplains.

Many adults have also found the past few months challenging, and anxiety lingers on. The restriction of church gatherings left lasting effects. To help with processing the experience and the loss of community life, Seasons for Growth offers adult courses to learn strategies for transitioning into “normal” life.

f you are interested to join a programme for processing your experience or for training as a companion (facilitator), please contact: Katrin Eickhorst, Trainer/Coordinator Seasons for Growth, 021 374 405 or email at seasons@wn.catholic.org.nz
